Sponsoring a Child
A partial 12-month sponsorship to cover a child’s health, education and living necessities is only $500. This covers the bare necessities to allow this child to eat, stay healthy and go to school on a daily basis.
A full 12-month sponsorship, which is approximately $1,000, allows the Umbrella Foundation to provide additional clothing, meal variety, hygienic products, and educational school supplies for the sponsored child.
We encourage those that are sponsoring a child to renew your sponsorships in subsequent years as our goal is to provide continued fostering and development. Once your sponsorship is in place you will receive a personal profile and biography of your child along with continual updates, including a possible letter from the child and/or updated school report cards.
All donations, however large or small, are greatly appreciated and each and every dollar truly makes a difference. In addition to child sponsorships there is always a need for operations expenses, including costs such as rent, utilities and children’s games and toys (which they rarely have the opportunity to experience).
Volunteering
A rewarding way to directly impact the lives of the Umbrella Foundation children is to make the trip to Katmandu, Nepal and engage and assist in the children’s day-to-day activities. Volunteers are welcomed with open arms to the Umbrella Foundation and are encouraged to stay at our established volunteer house, located near the Umbrella compound. For further information on how to make the trip, when the best time to go is, and what you may expect to encounter, please contact us at: volunteering@umbrellausa.org or feel free to contact Viva Bell at: umbrella@mos.com.np.
